OneOC is an excellent resource for connecting non-profit organizations and businesses, and they host exclusive events that bring the community together. The Orange County Community Conference is held annually and provides residents with the chance to learn about innovative ways to improve their neighborhoods. The workshops cover a wide range of topics that are beneficial for individual citizens, voluntary neighborhood organizations, homeowners associations, and other community groups. Ronald McDonald House Orange County is always looking for volunteers to help out with light household chores, administrative tasks, assisting families, storing supplies, and answering phones.
Mayor Demings is committed to making Orange County a safe, healthy, and satisfying place to live, work, and play. He hosts an interactive workshop that allows citizens to have a direct dialogue with him about the future of the county. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County also needs volunteers who are interested in mentoring children and helping them reach their full potential. The Orange County Civic 50 sets the standard for civic participation and provides companies with a roadmap for using their time, talent, and resources to make a social impact. OC Animal Care has a list of community service projects that can be completed by those under 18. Due to COVID-19, not many volunteer opportunities have resumed in Orange County at this time. However, community volunteers ages 13 and older can work at the food distribution center along with the Food Bank team. In accordance with Government in the Sunshine laws, the Orange County Government must make available all information that it does not consider a threat to the safety of law enforcement agencies and personnel.
